Can you pick what is wrong with this block?
I didn't notice until the block was all finished. Stupid part is I really like the mistake and am torn between using this block or remaking it.
To save you getting up and walking for your book, the centre of the star is meant to be blue not white.
So what would you do??? Leave it or make a new block????
Please let me know by leaving a comment. I will appreciate your opinion.
Thanks.

Thanks for your comments:)
ReplyDeleteI think the block looks great!! I vote to leave it and concentrate on the next one!!!
ReplyDeleteI second what Julianne said, it is a lovely block, and remember it is your quilt.
ReplyDeleteI only re-do if the size is wrong, Its a lovely block
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect to me :) If I had made it I would be very happy with it. Take care. Marion x
ReplyDeleteFrom experience (having done the same with a different block) I have to admit that I would re-do it. I am saving my oops blocks for the end and will make something with the ones that didn't come out quite like they should have!
ReplyDeleteleave it looks great.
ReplyDeleteAs Brenda P says in her classes, "Done is better than perfect." Move on to the next block, it is lovely

ReplyDeleteEither way is fine, but you like it so I vote for keeping it. You could even quilt a star into the white square -- star in a star.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I replaced a number of my blocks because I did not like the way they looked, but by the end, I to keep a few -- they just stopped bothering me. You could do the same thing. Save your potential replacement blocks for the end and see if those blocks still bother you. Time does change how you feel about some of the "oops" blocks...and some will remain troublesome no matter how long you wait.
you could always turn it into a label for your quilt
ReplyDeletei'm enjoying all these ideas for what to do with the inadvertent "oops" blocks cause a fair % of mine are falling into that category already...
ReplyDeletei love it and would leave it. i intentionally did mine like that. and changed the measurements so there's no frame. i'm all for making this quilt my own. i'm sure jane did.
