Dear Jane Retreat...

Hey Janiacs, I just got home from the "Dear Jane" retreat in Shipshewana, IN (Amish country)  and it was very fun. If you're not familiar with it, it's organized by people on the "Dear Jane" listserv. The retreat fee is only $20 plus the cost of hotel. Seemed like most people shared rooms to save on costs - I mean, conserve funds for fabric shopping - who are we kidding. : ) The format is completely open ended - come and go as you please... very low-key. There's another retreat in April so jump on that list and mark your calendars...

On the last day, when most of the quilters had already cleared out, I took advantage of the empty tables and laid out what I have so far... I am auditioning a sashing fabric candidate here and checking out how all the diamond blocks are shaping up...  Miles to go... but still fun to see every thing out in one place.

It would take a Dear Jane retreat to get me back to sewing these blocks. I am totally stuck and not into making them right now, but if I dedicated a whole weekend I might go far. Good for you!

A Jane retreat sounds fun. :) Love the fabrics you're putting together for your triangles there.

Would love a DJ retreat - haven't heard of one over here in OZ!! Maybe I should put it out there!! It would certainly be great to see everyone's blocks. You look like you got quite a bit accomplished!!

ha, well i only made one block while i was there! : ) i just wanted to try a layout to see how it was/wasn't coming together. Yeah, I think you guys should organize a little getaway... weird to be with people who all understand fabric obsessions and packing heavy. : )
